Gold Coast off-the-plan apartment buyers cash in as values soar more than 60%

Off-the-plan buyers in select Gold Coast apartment projects are cashing in on exceptional capital growth, with resale values climbing by up to 65 per cent in just two years – significantly outperforming the already strong broader market.

Early buyers in boutique projects such as Cabana Palm Beach and The Monaco at Main Beach have resold their apartments for staggering gains.

One apartment in The Monaco purchased off the plan for $5.6 million and completed in 2023 has since resold for $8.5 million, netting its owner a cool $2.9 million profit.

At the award-winning Cabana Palm Beach development completed in 2022, resales have returned price growth of between 52 per cent and 64 per cent due to its absolute beachfront location and high-quality architectural design.

This compared with the overall median unit price growth in Palm Beach of around 40 per cent over the same period according to realestate.com.au data.

Local developer Ignite Projects has just released its latest Palm Beach offering, Retreat on Jefferson Lane, with more than 25 per cent of apartments sold in less than four weeks.

Ignite Projects Director Josh Foote said the extraordinary gains achieved by buyers in developments such as Cabana Palm Beach and The Monaco showed luxury apartments offered both a premium lifestyle and a strategic financial opportunity.

“We’re excited to be ahead of the curve for price growth in our completed projects and expect to continue that momentum with Retreat at Palm Beach,” Mr Foote said.

“Our commitment to design, quality and delivering on our promises has given us a competitive edge with savvy buyers placing their trust in Ignite Projects to create lasting value and above-market returns,” he said.

Retreat Palm Beach represents a rare entry point into beach front living and one of the last opportunities to live in a project of this scale in Palm Beach.

Priced from $1.35 million to $3.95 million, the development comprises 56 wellness-inspired apartments across nine levels, with a mix of spacious two and three-bedroom residences featuring curated finishes, butler’s pantries and generous outdoor terraces.

Designed by Plus Architecture to be a luxury sanctuary by the sea, Retreat Palm Beach takes its inspiration from the Mediterranean, with soft curves, natural textures, and an emphasis on light, air, and indoor-outdoor flow.

A standout feature is the ground-floor communal wellness space, envisioned as a subterranean Mediterranean-style day spa, complete with a sculpted lagoon pool and floating day beds.

There will also be a cold plunge pool, spa, infrared sauna, fully equipped gymnasium, barbecue and alfresco dining areas – appealing to both owners and investors alike.

Residents will enjoy added convenience with access to communal e-bikes and a digital concierge system for seamlessly booking amenities and services.

Construction is set to commence in October 2025, with completion due in late 2027.

Potential buyers are urged to make their move now and visit the onsite display, where they can immerse themselves in the luxury finishes, clever design, and breathtaking views that could soon be theirs.

With only four weeks until the display closes its doors for good, this is a rare and limited opportunity to experience the quality and lifestyle on offer first-hand.
